As so many of my readers know I left Brisbane on 1 November 2024 to travel this beautiful country of mine.

But firstly, I needed to wind down and de-stress so I booked a park at Coominya Farm Stay for two weeks and the property did not disappoint.

I was looking for peace and quiet, open space, silence and decompression from the every day stress of living in a city for the past 13 years — the last 8 of those years listening to the train blow its horn outside my bedroom window every fifteen minutes as it sped towards the city.

I desperately needed a time out and I found it!

Coominya Farm Stay is all that I was looking for and more.

I got the peace and quiet I so desperately craved and I also found, as a bonus, a place to park my caravan. A large grassy, flat and level, paddock with a dam at one end.

Where better than to sit on a grassy knell overlooking the dam, dew wetting my rear end, cup of tea in hand at 5am each morning, while watching the ducks, Australasian Grebe’s with babies and listening to the frogs croak after…
