Pure Romance

I didn’t stand a chance.

Pure Romance. I didn’t stand a chance. A poem by Colleen Millsteed.

I met you on a day
That was warm and blue,
In a place called paradise
Where I fell for you.

We hit it off
From the start,
No matter what
You left your mark.

I had to leave quickly
The feelings wrong,
I’m married you see
I had to be strong.

Married I say
Separated more correct,
Still the guilt I felt
I could not reject.

Out of my mind for you
I tried to say,
But the memories and feelings
Were there to stay.

You followed me
I stood no chance,
You overcome
With pure romance.

Thank you for reading
