I’ve no idea where I’m going
Can’t remember where I’ve been,
Did I mean to lose my way
No, that was unforeseen.

I have friends who try to guide me
So that I never go astray,
But my terrible sense of direction
Always leads the wrong way.

I continue to change as I grow older
Take more notice of my surrounds,
But life is balancing on a tightrope
And I’ve no idea how to get down.

Most of my decisions seem wrong
It’s not often that they are right,
It’s like I’m caged and chained
With no escape in sight.

My tears are the rain falling
My rage, the roar of the wind,
I’m searching for my place in life
Uncomfortable in my own skin.
