It makes it that little bit more special

I remember well my first Vocal Top Story, where I received an email from Vocal to advise me of this award.

However, since then I have never again received notification when I have been lucky enough to receive this status on anything I have written.

I have usually found out when some kind soul has congratulated me on Facebook and this Top Story was no exception.

So I proudly present to you my very first Non-Fiction Top Story.

Although this is my seventh Top Story in the 12 months I have been a Vocal + Member, as my first awarded Non-Fiction article, it makes it that little bit more special to me.

This Non-Fiction article is an open letter to my mother (step-mother), confessing to something from my childhood, that I had never told her before. I wrote this for Vocal’s Mother’s Day Confession Challenge.

I hope you will take the time to enjoy.
