My Final Gift

Goodbye sweetheart

Our time has finally come to an end
Six excellent, crazy, topsy turvy months,
We strived to overcome our problems
But this time there seemed to be too many bumps.

This tears me apart inside
And breaks my heart in two,
I dreamt of spending the rest of my life
With no one else but you.

So even though we’ve parted
And we’ll never see each other again,
My love will keep on shining through
No matter how great the pain.

I loved you more than anyone
In fact I was 18 when I last loved like this,
Now my only sad regret
Is that it did not lead to wedded bliss.

The wonderful thing in all this
Is that today, of all days,
I can write of my love, not hate
That tells me I will be okay!

So leave here now my Darling
Knowing that my love for you still exists,
As strong as ever, if not stronger
And in my heart you’ll always be missed!!!
