Mum Here Is The Mail. Including a suspicious package wrapped in brown paper. A poem by Colleen Millsteed.

I caught up with my oldest Son recently
And he excitedly told me his fantastic news,
He’d found and ordered the most perfect ring
So he can propose to the one he cannot refuse.

He explained that he’d purchased it overseas
And requested that it be posted to my address,
He couldn’t afford to receive it at his place
As he was convinced his girl would guess.

Wow there will, in the not too distant future
Be a cause for a major celebration,
These two have been together for nine years
And my son is ready for his love declaration.

I’m not sure who is the more excited, he or I
As I have always wanted a daughter,
So this is a special addition to our family
And we are more than ready to welcome her.

My Son explained how he intends to propose
He is going to plan the most romantic getaway,
Hopefully he can arrange this as quickly as possible
So he can organise this winter and there is no wait.
