Mother Nature Is Throwing A Tantrum. And so it rains, and rains, and rains. A Non-Fiction Short Story written by Colleen Millsteed.

I live in the city of Brisbane, which is the capital of the state of Queensland in Australia.

It is currently our summer, yet I sit here in my winter dressing gown, under a woollen rug and both cats are curled up next to me, trying to steal my warmth. It’s 20 degrees Celsius.

I know, I know, I hear you all say that’s not cold but it is summer and it should be 30 degrees, not 20 degrees!

Plus it’s raining, and I mean raining!

Everything I touch feels damp. I’ve just had to wipe down the outside of my fridge door because overnight it has started to grow mould. My beautiful bamboo floors are wet to walk across, as they don’t like all this moisture.

The humidity is sitting at 98%.

Because it’s raining, and I mean it’s seriously raining!

The rain began in the early hours of Thursday morning and it has not stopped since. Today is Sunday and it’s late afternoon. No reprieve in sight.
