Even for just one more night
Please make believe you still love me
Even if we only pretend for one more night,
Let’s make believe we can fix the wrongs
And hold tightly to all that is right.
Don’t give up on us this easily
We can make believe our futures bright,
Forget all the words we’ve recently spoken
Just hold and love each other tonight.
On this night let’s take the time to remember
How beautiful it was when we first met,
Remember back to how our love was then
And be happy we have nothing to regret.
Are you really certain we need to end
It’s not all water under the bridge,
We have so much we could fight for
Such as our love used for leverage?
It is heartbreaking to see and feel
That you’ve really given up the ghost,
Let’s make believe one more time
That it is to our future we toast.
Then hold me tight and love me one last time
But ensure that when the sunrise breaks,
You’ll gently kiss my lips…
