I See You There

Those are not my tears

I See You There. Those are not my tears. A poem by Colleen Millsteed.

I’m standing in front of the mirror
Not believing the reflection is me,
There stands a women crying
They can’t be my tears I see.

We were always so good together
Perfect, people would always say,
I never would have believed then
That we’d never stay that way.

Everyone said you were no good
They believe it’s better like this,
But I was the one to feel your love
And experienced your tender kiss.

So I stand here looking in the mirror
And continue to see the sad view,
Once the tears stop, I’ll smile again
But I’ll always feel my love for you.

Thank you for reading.
