From Hell To Heaven. My walk in the park. A poem by Colleen Millsteed.

I drove the express on the highway to hell last week
And can promise I did not enjoy that ride,
I found the going was extremely rough
And more than once I lost my stride.

I had no intention of staying for long
As I had my strength on my side,
But the days without sleep, the pain at no end
Was definitely enough to see me hide.

This week I took to the highway again
Though I decided to skip the express,
A more leisurely drive, time on my side
A ride taken without duress.

At the end of the road was a little slice of heaven
I’d come to the end of the land,
Clear skies, blue water, the salt air smell
And my bare feet in white sand.

Although I wasn’t given the choice
Of taking that trip in the dark,
Without that nightmarish journey last week
I wouldn’t have found my walk in the park!!!
