Worth living a lifetime to experience even just once

A beautiful beach, with white sand, aqua water, and blue sky, a palm tree bent from the wind and a wooden canoe on shore.

You placed a crown upon my head on this very day
My face graced a smile that made my eyes shine,
On a beach of pure white sand and pure blue seas
The sun was shining, both blessed on a day so fine.

Happiness was bliss, I couldn’t have ask for more
My time had finally arrived and the world was mine,
White sand, bare feet, black jeans and silver rings
A palm tree, bending in the wind, our glorious shrine.

It had been twenty years since I’d felt such happiness
A day that was both pivotal and importance combine,
I watched as you cried in joy, the truth finally revealed
We had both waited for ever so long for just this sign.

That memory is tucked into my heart, never forgotten
Like it all happened just yesterday, our hands entwine,
Happiness this pure doesn’t come around that often
So I give way to my grief today, is it any wonder I pine?
